The last couple of weeks in review

I’ve been so sick for about the last two weeks. I have an upper respiratory infection, and I’m the kind of person who doesn’t shake those easily at all. I once coughed for a month and a half and ultimately broke a rib. So, basically, when I get a cough I can’t shake, I immediately go into hibernation mode to try to end this all as soon as possible.

And there I camped out in my blanket fort for a bout a week, coming up occasionally to sparkle at my store and let you all know you’re all still the best customers ever, when I realized I was about to have company arrive in mere days. And I just gave up.

Quarantine.

This would not do. We are the south. We clean that house before that company gets there or know only shame forevermore.

The house must be clean’t.

So, I called MaidPro,based solely on how possible I thought it might be to book them on a Friday for a Monday. They quoted me what I thought was a rather high number, but my house really did need to be beaten back to zero, and I was not going to be managing that any time before Monday. So I said yes.

Toilet paper rose won my heart.

The cleaner was scheduled to arrive between 11 am and 3 pm. She rang my doorbell at 8:32 am. Out. Standing. That blessed woman cleaned and cleaned and cleaned like a quiet tornado until 3:21 pm. She did not take a break for herself, nor did she flag for an instant. I can only assume that having seen just how low this house of raccoons could go, that she felt it was best to get on with the horribleness.

Representative mess….for demonstration purposes only

But now, after Mariela, it’s all

CLEAN. THIS KITCHEN WAS THREE APARTMENTS AGO. THAT’S HOW CLEAN MARIELA GETS THINGS.

Seriously though. That as most definitely NOT in my budget, but if I hadn’t gotten so sick on the cusp of company’s arriving, my house would still look like Hoarders should be there.

And while the MaidPro was bringing order to my life, I was able to add some sparkle to mine.
